There’s a sort of beautiful chaos to Hanoi. From the non-stop stream of motorbikes weaving through the Old Quarter’s historic streets to the smell of sizzling street food that seems to waft around every corner and the bustling markets that come alive at night. But there’s also another side to Hanoi. A more peaceful side that can be felt when visiting cultural sites like Ngoc Son Temple on Hoan Kiem Lake or the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university complex dating back to 1070. A trip to Hanoi promises adventure at every turn, and its charm lies in this balance of chaos and calm.
