Some good R&R is always important after a hard season on the Netball court, and what better way to blow off some steam than with a holiday? But with so many amazing destinations across the globe, picking where to go is incredibly hard! Luckily, we have a foolproof way to determine which destination is best for you.

Goal Keeper (GK)

Destination: Machu Picchu

The sole job of the Goal Keeper is to stop the other team from scoring. They need quick reflexes and must be able to jump high to catch all the rebounds and intercepts. The best way to describe a Goal Keeper is stoic. They are resilient and never give up in the face of a challenge. If you are a Goal Keeper, Machi Picchu is the perfect destination for you. The trek to Machu Picchu can be very challenging but the reward is well worth the effort.

Goal Defence (GD)

Destinations: New York City, London or Tokyo

The goal defence is the last line of defence stopping the opposition from getting into your circle. To play this position you need to be energetic, assertive and can’t be afraid to get involved in the hustle and bustle. If you play Goal Defence, then you’ll feel right at home in the big, exciting and sometimes hectic cities of New York, London and Tokyo.

Wing Defence (WD)

Destinations: Czech Republic, Cambodia, Costa Rica

Poor Wing Defence seems to be the position that is always overlooked. It feels like no one ever wants to put their hand up to play here, and it is often the first position to get cut if you are a player down.

But, if you are a Wing Defence, you get in, do your job well, and don’t worry about any of the fanfare. You need a destination that is underrated like you such as the Czech Republic, Cambodia or Costa Rica. These destinations may not get the plaudits that places like London and New York do, but they’re hidden gems waiting to wow you with their unique holiday charms.

Centre (C)

Destination: Round The World

On the court, Centres love to go everywhere and do everything – they get to run up and down the entire court (almost) and are involved in both defence and attack. Centres must be super fit, have a clear mind and help keep the team organised.

A round-the-world trip is the perfect holiday for a Centre. It matches your energy and allows you to be everywhere and experience everything. Plus, to coordinate multiple flights, hotels and transfers takes a lot of organisation which, of course, you are perfect for.

Wing Attack (WA)

Destination: Western Australia

The role of the Wing Attack is to get the ball from the defence and feed it to the attackers. You might not get the glory of scoring goals, but it doesn’t happen without you. Off the court, you’re probably the type of person who will mingle at parties, organise social events and will always be there for you (just like on the court).

If you are a Wing Attack, you should go somewhere that you can meet someone as sociable as you. Western Australia is your perfect destination so you can hang out with the cute and sociable Quokkas. These adorable little creatures love visitors and take a great selfie! Plus, WA matches your bib.

Goal Attack (GA)

Destinations: Maldives, Fiji or Bora Bora

The Goal Attack is the netball equivalent of the popular girl at school. She is confident, cool and sometimes it can seem like everyone either wants to be her or be her friend. Goal Atack is a position that is full of flair – she gets to go more places on the court than the Goal Shooter while still getting the glory of shooting some goals.

If you play Goal Attack, then you need a destination that is flashy and stylish like you. The overwater bungalows in the Maldives, Fiji and Bora Bora ooze style and luxury offering the perfect backdrop for some Instagram content (which you’ll naturally get plenty of likes on).

Goal Shooter (GS)

Destinations: France, Egypt, Brazil

Goal Shooters are the star of the show, scoring the goals and getting the praise. But while having all eyes on you might sound appealing, it comes with pressure. Goal Shooters need to have the skills and be calm in the heat of the game.

If you play Goal Shooter, then you need a destination that stands out from the crowd, just like you. France, Egypt and Brazil are perfect for you because you can visit iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids of Giza and Christ The Redeemer.
