Malindo Air has been zooming through the skies for four years but only recently has it come under the radar of Aussie travellers. A premium Malaysian airline offering full service flights from Brisbane and Perth – including direct flights to Bali – it’s worth getting to know a little bit more about Malindo Air, what they offer and where they can take you.
The Good News for Aussie Travellers
Malindo Air offers daily flights to Bali from Perth and more recently, direct flights every day from Brisbane to Bali’s Denpasar Airport too. Could a Malindo Air booking be your cheapest flight to Bali? It just might be. These services offer more and more choice and competition on this ever-popular route for travellers in search of the best beaches close to home, and depending on when you travel, you could bag yourself a bargain fare.
Looking to head further afield? Malindo Air currently operates over 800 flights weekly to over 40 destinations – and word is, there’s more to come. With their main hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you can connect to many popular destinations across Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, India and Indonesia.
Malindo Air could be your ticket to an affordable Bali holiday.
What to Expect Onboard
Malindo Air is a full service airline, with the majority of its fleet made up of well-equipped Boeing 737s. Included in your fare, expect light snacks and meals, in-flight personal entertainment on personal Panasonic touch screens, your own copy of their inflight magazine MalindoMag, and a checked baggage allowance of 20 to 30 kilograms for Economy Class.
Note: included baggage allowance is reduced to 15 kilograms on ATR aircraft on connecting flights to smaller destinations across Malaysia and to Pekanbaru in Indonesia.

The Business Class Experience
Malindo Air also offers Business Class on most flights, including its Australian services. The Business Class experience gives you more space and comforts, from full leather seats with 45 inches of leg room and 30 to 40 kilograms of complimentary baggage allowance to free WiFi connectivity.
Staying Connected in the Air
While Business Class passengers get free access to the in-flight Malindo Air WiFi network and Malindo Mobile service, Economy Class passengers are charged a small fee depending on level of use, from US$1.25 to US$15.95. These services are available on select flights.
What Else Do I Need to Know?
When flying into Kuala Lumpur, you may be flying in and out of the newly built Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2). If you need to travel between KLIA2 and KLIA (the main terminal building), you can take the KLIA Express train between the two terminals which takes approximately three minutes.
Also – there’s talk of the possibility of non-stop Brisbane to Kuala Lumpur flights once the airline takes hold of its new, longer-range Airbus A330s.
