Grand Canyon, Arizona
Rebecca Allender said “You can not describe the awesome scope,” when it comes to the Grand Canyon. One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, The Canyon encompasses more than 1.2 million acres of cliffs, valleys, waterfalls and winding rivers. That old saying ‘all good things take time’ rings true with this natural phenomenon, which took shape over two billion years.
They weren't kidding when they called it the 'Grand' Canyon!
Top of the Rock, New York
According to Patricia Percival, "The views are stunning and the colours amazing," from the Top of the Rock in NYC. Arguably the best view in New York City, the open-air observation deck on the 70th floor offers 360 degree views of Manhattan and beyond. Stay up in the clouds, while the world’s busiest city moves at your feet.
A Big Apple view a day keeps the travel bug away
Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
“The view bike riding over the Golden Gate Bridge is spectacular,” said Frankie Lauria. Famous for its bright red Art Deco design, this suspension bridge offers some of the broadest views of the beautiful San Francisco Bay. Hire a bike and feel like you’re pedaling through the sky as you cycle the 1.2 kilometres across the Bay on a foggy morning.
All that glitters is San Fran's Golden Gate Bridge
Niagara Falls, New York / Ontario
Just two words of advice from Lynette Koina say it all: "… at night." Every evening at dusk, the gushing water and spray of Niagara Falls becomes illuminated with all the colours of the rainbow. There are often fireworks visible from the natural beauty’s many viewing platforms making it an absolute must-see. Niagara Falls just sneaks in to the best USA views, existing on the precipice of both New York state and Ontario, Canada.
If it's good enough for Ms Monroe...
Monument Valley, Arizona / Utah
Liz Pinkerton is spot on when she said "something totally different is Monument Valley!" These crumbling formations rise up to 300 meters into the heavens and have been the backdrop of many American Westerns. On horseback or by car, explore the 27-kilometre open stretch and make your way up to Lookout Point for the best panoramic views.
'Monumental' doesn't do Monument Valley justice!
