This winter journey through the Canadian Rockies begins with a few days in Calgary, where you can explore the city's landmarks like the Calgary Tower, Prince Island Park, and the Calgary Stampede's SAM Centre. After settling in, you'll head to Banff for several days of winter adventure. Skiing or snowboarding at Banff Sunshine Village and Lake Louise Ski Resort are key highlights, but you can also enjoy snowshoeing, dog sledding, and relaxing in the Banff Upper Hot Springs. Banff Town itself offers charming shops, galleries, and museums, providing plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the local culture and natural beauty.
The trip continues with a scenic transfer to Lake Louise, where you'll be captivated by the frozen lake and the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Enjoy outdoor activities like ice skating, snowshoeing, skiing, and sleigh rides, or relax at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. After spending extra time in Lake Louise, you'll head to Jasper for more winter wonderland experiences, including skiing at Marmot Basin, snowshoeing, and exploring Maligne Canyon's frozen waterfalls. Jasper's dark skies offer a perfect opportunity for stargazing, and the wildlife in the area is truly spectacular. After these unforgettable winter adventures, the trip concludes with a relaxing departure from Jasper or a return to Calgary.
Day 1Arrive in Calgary and transfer to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the city, visiting the Calgary Tower for panoramic views and strolling through Prince Island Park. Later, head to the Calgary Stampede's SAM Centre to explore exhibits celebrating Western heritage and the Stampede's rich history. You can also enjoy some shopping or cozy cafes in the area.
Day 2Spend another day in Calgary, starting with a visit to the Calgary Zoo, where you can see animals in a winter setting, or explore Heritage Park Historical Village to learn about the region's pioneer history. If you're into art and culture, visit the Glenbow Museum or check out the contemporary exhibitions at Contemporary Calgary.
Day 3After breakfast, transfer to Banff. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring Banff Town, strolling along Banff Avenue and stopping by local shops and galleries. You can visit the Banff Park Museum to learn about the region's natural history or simply explore the snowy streets of the town.

Day 4
Begin your day by heading to Banff Sunshine Village or Lake Louise Ski Resort for a day of skiing or snowboarding. If you prefer something less intense, take a scenic ride on the Banff Gondola or try snowshoeing through Banff National Park. In the evening, relax and enjoy the winter atmosphere of the town.
Day 5Spend the day indulging in more winter activities. Consider going snowmobiling or dog sledding in the Banff and Kootenay National Parks. For a more relaxed day, take a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered forests or try cross-country skiing. You can also spend time walking around Lake Minnewanka and soaking in the beautiful winter landscape.

Day 6
Take a day to explore Banff's surrounding natural beauty. A winter hike through Johnston Canyon or a scenic drive along the Icefields Parkway (if weather permits) will offer unforgettable views. You could also visit the Whyte Museum to learn about the region's culture and history.
Day 7Transfer to Lake Louise in the morning and check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring Lake Louise itself, which is breathtaking when frozen over. You can enjoy ice skating or take a peaceful winter hike along the Shoreline Trail.
Day 8Enjoy a day at Lake Louise Ski Resort for some skiing or snowboarding, or opt for a snowshoeing adventure or a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the winter landscape. Take a scenic ride on the Lake Louise Gondola for stunning views of the area. Later, you can unwind at the Fairmont Chateau's spa or take a swim in the indoor pool.
Day 9Spend an additional day in Lake Louise for more outdoor activities. You can take part in another round of skiing at Lake Louise Ski Resort or explore the surrounding area on snowshoes. For a truly magical experience, consider a guided ice walk through the stunning Johnston Canyon. Alternatively, enjoy the peaceful winter surroundings by simply relaxing around Lake Louise or going on a winter wildlife tour to spot local animals.

Day 10
Transfer to Jasper in the morning and check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring Jasper Townsite, where you can stroll through its charming streets and local shops. Take the Jasper SkyTram for panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains.

Day 11
Jasper offers a wide range of winter activities, including dog sledding, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing through Jasper National Park. For a more thrilling experience, try a snowmobile tour. In the afternoon, visit Maligne Canyon to see the stunning frozen waterfalls or explore Maligne Lake for more winter scenery.
Day 12On your final full day in Jasper, enjoy a relaxed day or choose another winter activity. You can go skiing at Marmot Basin, which offers a range of runs for all skill levels. Alternatively, explore Patricia Lake or embark on a wildlife tour to spot animals such as elk, deer, and wolves.

Day 13
After breakfast, spend some last moments enjoying the beauty of Jasper before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Calgary or onward. If you have extra time, visit the Jasper Visitor Centre for a final look at the local attractions or take a stroll around town before departing.
