Itinerary

  • Day 1 Fly to Siem Reap. Begin your journey by flying to Siem Reap, Cambodia's gateway to the Angkor temples. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the rest of the day to soak up the local culture. In the evening, join your group for a welcome dinner and briefing with your National Escort.
  • Day 2 The Temples of Angkor. Explore the ancient city of Angkor Thom, starting with the enigmatic Bayon Temple, known for its numerous sculptural decorations. Visit the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. In the afternoon, visit Ta Prohm, famed for its atmospheric ruins overtaken by towering trees. Conclude the day at Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world, and enjoy a sunset boat ride on the moat surrounding Angkor Thom.
  • Day 3 Tonle Sap Lake. Travel to the shores of Tonle Sap Lake to visit the floating village of Kampong Phluk (from October to February) or Chong Kneas (from March to September). Experience rural life with a visit to Chansar village and enjoy a meal at a local Khmer family's home.
  • Day 4 Fly to Phnom Penh. Fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city or relax.
  • Day 5 Phnom Penh City Tour. Visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, which house impressive collections of art and historical artifacts. Explore the National Museum, showcasing Khmer art, and visit Wat Phnom, a Buddhist temple that marks the city's founding. In the afternoon, learn about Cambodia's recent history at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields memorial.
  • Day 6 Embark on the Victoria Mekong Cruise. Board the Victoria Mekong, a deluxe river cruise ship, for a three-night journey along the Mekong River into Vietnam. Enjoy onboard activities and cultural experiences as you sail through the Mekong Delta.
  • Day 7 Mekong River Cruise. Continue your cruise along the Mekong River, participating in shore excursions designed to provide an authentic glimpse of local life. Enjoy onboard activities and cultural experiences as you sail through the Mekong Delta.
  • Day 8 Disembark in Saigon. Arrive in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and visit the War Remnants Museum to learn about Vietnam's history. Explore the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office, both fine examples of French colonial architecture. Stroll through Ben Thanh Market, a bustling market offering local goods and souvenirs.
  • Day 9 Saigon to Hoi An. Fly to Da Nang and transfer to the charming town of Hoi An. Take a walking tour of Hoi An's Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its well-preserved architecture and vibrant markets. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore at your leisure.
  • Day 10 Hoi An at Leisure. Spend the day at leisure in Hoi An. Optional activities include a cooking class, a visit to the nearby beach, or a bicycle ride through the countryside.
  • Day 11 Hoi An to Hanoi. Fly to Hanoi, Vietnam's capital. Take a cyclo tour through Hanoi's Old Quarter, experiencing the bustling streets and local markets. Visit the Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple. In the evening, enjoy a performance of traditional water puppetry.
  • Day 12 Hanoi City Tour. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Quarter, stopping at the Old Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university. Explore the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex, including the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh's stilt house. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore Hanoi's vibrant streets and markets.
  • Day 13 Halong Bay Cruise. Drive to Halong Bay and embark on a cruise to explore its stunning limestone karsts and islands. Enjoy a seafood lunch on board and visit a grotto or cave. Spend the night on board the cruise ship.
  • Day 14 Return to Hanoi. Continue cruising in Halong Bay in the morning. After lunch on board, disembark and drive back to Hanoi. Enjoy a farewell dinner with your group in the evening.
  • Day 15 Departure. Transfer to Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport for your departure flight, bringing home memories of your journey through Cambodia and Vietnam.
